Agnes Moody

Agnes Marie Moody, formerly of Simla and Calhan, died peacefully in her sleep on December 7, 2009. Agnes was born on March 20, 1916, in Ramah, Colorado. Her maternal grandparents had homesteaded near Ramah. She and her parents, Mildred and Newton Bearfoot, moved from Ramah to Calhan. Her three siblings were born in Calhan: her beloved sister, Mabel, who now lives in Lakewood, and her much-missed brothers, Lester and Robert, who predeceased her. Agnes graduated from Calhan High School and then married Ernest T. Moody. Agnes and Ernest were devoted parents of Kathleen and Robert; grandparents of David, Laurie, Kristin, Elise, Ted, and Danielle; and great-grandparents of Alexandra and Ashley. Ernest preceded her in death in November, 1982. Agnes and her family moved from Calhan to Simla in 1952. After graduating from beauty school in Colorado Springs, she opened a beauty shop in Calhan and then in Simla. Her customers quickly became her friends, and she enjoyed each and every one of them. She was a member of the Simla community until moving to Loveland in 1993 to live with her son, Bob, and his family. Late in 2007, she moved to Boulder to be with her daughter, Kathy, and her family. She was a Boulder resident at the time of her death at the age of 93. She is grieved by her family, who knew her to be unfailingly loving, helpful, and supportive. Her friends in Calhan, Simla, Loveland, and Boulder treasured her warm personality and generous heart and join her family in missing her deeply.
