Alice Fundingsland

Alice Marie (Rinn) Fundingsland died March 2, 2011 in Burlington. Alice was born to Michael and Fauneil Rinn in Boulder, CO, October 15, 1917. She graduated from Boulder Preparatory School and attended the University of Colorado for two years. Alice moved to Cincinnati, OH and graduated from the business college there. During World War II, she worked as a secretary, both in Cincinnati and Denver. On June 30, 1944, Alice married Shirley E. Fundingsland in Louisville, CO. Shirley had recently returned from the Pacific Theater where he fought with the United States Marine Corps. The couple lived in Santa Barbara, CA until the end of the war. Their first child, Stephen, was born there. The family moved to Burlington in 1947 and their second son, Ronald, was born at that time. Alice was preceded in death by her mother and father, her son, Stephen, her husband, Shirely, her sister, Fauneil, and her brother Mike; Her son, Ron, and wife Jean, her grandchildren, Emily and Karey survive her. It was her wish to be inurned at the Fairview Cemetery, there were no services held. Memorial donations may be made to Caring Hands Hospice in Burlington, CO, or to a charity of choice.
