Amanda T. Rothbauer

Amanda “Mandi” Teresa Rothbauer, 49, was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on November 29th, 1975 to James and Karen Vicar and peacefully went Home on January 6th, 2025 at her farm in Simla, Colorado.

Mandi was the beloved wife of Mark Rothbauer. A loving mother to Tiffany Engelbrecht, James Rodney, Alex Rothbauer, Dalton Rothbauer, Dylan Rothbauer, Lillian Rothbauer, and MaKenna Rothbauer. She was a cherished Mammie to Maya, EJ, P, and Koen, plus many other “adopted” grandchildren. She was also a true daughter, sister, aunt, and devoted friend.

Mandi will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many others who were “family” in her heart.

An obituary, tasked with encapsulating one’s life in a few paragraphs, cannot communicate who Mandi was to those that individually knew her. It would take pages, pictures, and videos to describe the countless things she loved and valued in life. She knew that life isn’t about how big your bank account is or how large your circle of “friends” is. She saw beauty, joy, and moments in the ordinary things of life such as the excitement and sight of a newborn calf, rainbows, sunrises, blessing others, and the Colorado sunset. She was as unique as a snowflake, beautiful as a sunrise, and warming to the soul like a wood fire. She was loved for who she transparently was and consequently not. She was strong enough to accept either outcome and didn’t hate another living human.

She would be the first to admit that she was never without struggles, but she never regretted the life she chose, the mistakes she made, the lessons she learned, or the hardships she faced. Her time spent with family was what she most cherished and leaving a legacy that her grandchildren can be proud of was what kept her motivated. When asked what her biggest fear was, her response was, “Oh gosh, easier to say what I'm not fearful of than answer this one.”

It was Mandi’s wish to not have a funeral, but she did welcome us to celebrate her life together and what she meant to each of us in her own unique way. Therefore, a life memorial celebration will be held in late March/early April 2025 at Love Funeral Homes located at 225 F Ave, Limon, CO 80828. In lieu of gifts, the family asks that you please plant a tree(s) in her honor: https://www.lovefuneralhomes.com/

To her husband, she was known as Wife, Babe, Pumpkin... (E)
