View Video Tribute Barbara May Lemley, 83 of Simla, CO passed away on March 14, 2007 at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, CO. Barbara was born on January 19, 1924 outside Kiowa, CO to John Ross Price and Freda (Kuzma) Lemley one of three children. She was born in a small house on the banks of the west Bijou Creek on the Bijou ranch. She later moved to Willow Creek, near Granby, Colorado where her biological father John Price Hunted. When her father passed away, she moved back to Kiowa, Colorado. After her mother met and married Aaron Burr Lemley, she grew up on the Simla area, graduating for Simla High School on 1942. She spent the rest of her life on the ranch. Barbara never married but thoroughly enjoyed her great niece and other community children. She loved to draw and was quite an accomplished artist as well as seamstress. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved her cats and dogs. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean Cooper and brother Thomas Lemley. Barbara is survived by her nephew, Mike and his wife Nolana Lemley and their daughter Sarah Belle of Simla, CO. She is also survived by cousins; Donald Lemley of Simla, CO, Eddie and Vernie Lemley of Simla, CO, Barry and wife Tonya Lemley and family of Arapahoe, CO Monty and wife Margie Martinez Lemley and family of Greeley, CO, and Donna and husband David Pylypezuk and family of Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held for Barbara on Thursday, March 22, 2007, 10:00 am at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon, CO with internment following at the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, CO. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 21, 2007, 3-6 pm at the Love Funeral Home, Limon, CO. Memorials are suggested to The Cartwright Foundation for the Care and Treatment of Sick or Injured Animals 5312 Pinon Drive, Elizabeth, CO 80107.
