Betty Snyder

Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident, Betty J. Snyder passed away at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington on April 18, 2012. She was 84 years old. Betty was born on November 26, 1927 to Larry and Jay (Phagan) Curtis. She attended many schools and graduated in 1945 from Cheyenne Wells High School. On January 1, 1946 Betty married Mort Snyder, to this union two children were born, Jay on September 2, 1947. The young couple was blessed again on September 13, 1950 with a daughter, Becki. Betty was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Burlington. She also worked many years as a secretary, first for the Cheyenne Wells High School and later on for Esch Lumber and the family hardware store. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Mort, and sister Eileen Connelly. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Jay and his wife, Judy Snyder of Burlington, CO; daughter Becki and her husband Jerry Andrews of Nevis, MN. Grandchildren: Lyn Snyder and daughters and Greg Unger and son; Dana Richards and husband Landon Richards of Burlington; Ty Andrews, April Bower and daughters of Nevis, Minnesota; Dan, Mike, Becky and Phillip Alfrey of Colorado. Great-Grandchildren: Miranda Mari, Mikenna Mari, Dalton Richards and Dylan Richards and sisters-in-laws, Margie Billinger and Billy Graham.
