Bonnie Lou Mckee

September 20, 1933 — September 10, 2022

Bonnie McKee, longtime resident of Idalia Colorado and Black Forest Colorado, passed away September 10, 2022 in Black Forest Colorado. Bonnie was born September 20, 1933 in Burlington, Colorado to Marvin and Mabel (Andrews) Walters. She grew up west of the Bonny Dam south of Idalia, Colorado on the family farm. Bonnie married the love of her life Donald D. McKee, June 2, 1951 in Idalia, Colorado. To this union were born three sons and one daughter Bobby, Billy, Peggy and Bruce. Don and Bonnie shared 71 years together and were blessed to live in many places including Michigan, Kansas and Colorado. Bonnie worked the majority of her life as a meat cutter, telephone operator, house-wife and worked on the family farm. Through beet season she worked for various farmers including McKee farms and McKee irrigation. She also operated Black Forest Liquors in Black Forest, CO. When she was not working she enjoyed working in the yard, playing softball, pool, eight ball and snooker. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Mable Andrews (Walters) brothers Arlyn Walters and Marvin Walters and sister, Donna K Bailey. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Donald McKee; sons Bob McKee and Bill McKee; daughter Peggy Stone; son Bruce McKee; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Saint John’s Church 28591 County Road 7, Idalia, Colorado 80735. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery.
