View Video Tribute Brenda Kay Grant, 40, of Arriba, CO, passed away on August 17, 2006 in Denver, CO. Brenda was born in Yankton, SD on December 26, 1965 to Thomas and Kathy Hamberger, the oldest of four children, (one sister and two brothers). The family moved to Burlington, CO where Brenda attended grade school, to Parker, CO where she graduated from Ponderosa High School in 1984, and then attended Mesa College. She married Nathan Grant on June 8, 1991 and had one daughter, KayCee Ann Grant, 11, who is currently attending Flagler Middle School. Brenda was a loving mother and wife, who stayed busy as a homemaker and managing her husbands trucking business. At the time of her demise, she was serving on the Arriba town board and active with the Hartland 4-H Club. Brenda and her family were actively involved with a foreign student exchange program and hosted four students over the past few years. She loved children of all ages and spent a great deal of time caring for them while their parents were working. Brenda is preceded in death by grandfathers and one grandmother (Otto Jilg, Robert Hamberger, and Johanna Peterka.) She is survived by her husband, Nathan, daughter KayCee of Arriba, CO, grandmother, Clara Jilg, of Yankton, SD, father, Thomas Hamberger of Plano, TX, mother, Kathy Fiedler, of Indianapolis, IN, sister, Becky Johnson, Parker, CO, brothers Bob Thomas, of Centennial, CO, Brad Thomas, of Fruita, CO, four nephews, 2 nieces, and many friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Our Lady of Victoria Catholic Church in Limon, CO, with Father Fagan officiating. Interment will follow at the Arriba Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday August 21, 2006 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. with Rosary being held at 7:00 p.m. Memorials can be made to KayCee Grant Foundation in c/o Arapahoe Credit Union 3999 E.
