Carol Ann Holtzclaw, 66, of Byers, Colorado passed away on May 21, 2013 at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colorado.
Carol was born to Archie Lee and Dorothy (Betts) Holtzclaw on April 4, 1947 in Denver, Colorado one of three girls born to this union. She grew up in Byers graduating from Byers High School in 1965.
She went on to work at several different locations and held many different positions; one being Longhorn Café as dishwasher and food prep, worked at Vansyoc Garage as a clerk, Colorado General Hospital as a file clerk, Mastercard as an office worker, working as a purchasing agent for the Federal Government from 1980 through 2000 retiring due to health issues.
Carol enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, and loved to read books. She was very active in her community volunteering at special events and attending Public meetings. She was a life time member of the ladies auxiliary, a volunteer at the Soil Conservation Office she was the President of the residents committee as a go between for the residents and the nursing home staff and always set a table at the July 4th parade selling things she had made or for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Carol is survived by her sisters; Helen Lyons of West Virginia and Alice Catlin of Sanborn, New York along with nieces, nephews and many friends.
