Carol A. Tracy was born July 18, 1948, to Klein and Mary Lucille Bowker. She was the 5th of 12 children. Carol went to school in Goodland, KS. She married Charles Conn Cody in 1965. To this union two children were born. Chance Cody and Casey Cody. The marriage dissolved and Carol moved to Colorado, where she met Ronald Tracy. They married on May 18, 1972, and had one child together, Brian K. Tracy born June 8th, 1977.
Carol attended Blair Business College and went on to help Ron with the Tracy Oil books for years. Carol was the manager for Loaf n Jug in Limon for several years in the late eighties. The majority of Carols work was for Elbert County Social Services (24yrs). After retirement from the County, she worked part time jobs at Hoffman Drugs for a stint and the Micro Hotel.
Carol loved going to the lake with family and friends. Carol loved her coffee and would hardly ever be seen without a cup in her hand. Her grandchildren and dogs were her pride and joy. We all joked that she loved her dogs more than anyone. Later in life Carol became great friends with Mike Jeffries, they enjoyed driving around visiting friends/family and often had Taco Bell lunch dates.
Carol is preceded in death by her son Chance Cody, Ronald Tracy, sisters Elsie Miller, Alta Mae House, Kay Stephens, Janice Young and brothers Jim Bowker and Bill Bowker. Carol is survived by her daughter, Casey (Troy) Thompson, her son Brian (Jeanie) Tracy. Grandchildren, Megan (Tyler) Smith, Tucker Thompson, Hunter (Hayden) Tracy and Kaitlyn Tracy. Great Grandchildren Sophie and Cooper Smith. Sisters, Nancy Michel, Phyllis Dering, Beverly Bowker, Jackie Sandoval and brother Bruce Bowker. Along with many nieces and nephews.
