Cheryl A. Waters

Cheryl Ann Waters passed away on January 28th, 2025, at Common Spirit Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 75 years old. Cheryl was born August 9th, 1949. Her parents were Evan Waters and Dorothy Hoover (both deceased).

Cheryl loved her family, and her family members include her sister Debbie (Ray) Thieman, her brother David Waters (deceased), cousins Sharon (Lynn) Dougherty and family, Rick Ringler, and Ron Ringler. Her nieces and nephews include Chad (Tracy) Thieman, Brent (Kelly) Thieman, Carrie (Shawn) Bennett, Rebecca (Curtis) Stanko, numerous great nieces and nephews, and long-time friend and care-giver Loretta Sandaval.

Cheryl grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and spent most of her life there. Throughout the years Cheryl cooked at both the Castaway Restaurant in Manitou Springs and at the Giuseppe Restaurant in Colorado Springs. She also worked at Current, Incorporated Company and Checks Unlimited in Colorado Springs.

Cheryl loved animals especially her Doberman, “Macho” and her cat “Fluffy”. She was an avid Bronco fan and cheered them on from her living room each game. Family celebrations were very important to her, and she especially loved spending her birthdays with her loved ones. Cheryl often asked to go to the Fargo Pizza Parlor for her birthday and always ordered their pepperoni pizza and carrot cake. Attending stock car races and car shows were also a favorite. She even drove a stock car one evening during a “Ladies Only” race at the Pikes Peak Raceway. She never quit smiling that night. Cheryl enjoyed watching or reading detective stories. The last three years Cheryl spent her life at the Medallion Post-Acute and Senior Living and then at Fountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center where she kept their coffee pots drained and the nurses running to keep her coffee cup filled. Her cousin, Sharon Dougherty, faithfully kept her finances straight and her needs met while at the facilities. Cheryl appreciated her help. Cheryl attended New Life Church when she was able and watched their Sunday service telecasts. Cheryl always believed in Jesus.

Services for Cheryl will be held Monday, February 10th, 2025, at Love Funeral Home, 225 F Avenue, Limon, Colorado at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow the ceremony at Pershing Memorial Cemetery, 503 6th Street, in Limon.
