View Video Tribute Lifelong Vona, Colorado resident Colleen Rae Ford passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver. She was 72 years old. Colleen was born on May 3, 1935 in Seibert, Colorado to Walter and Minnie (Anderson) Eastin. She was one of eight children. Colleen attended school in the Vona School District and graduated from high school in 1953. On May 14, 1988, Colleen married Merlin Ford in Burlington. Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, one niece Pam Crisp and one sister-in-law Judy Eastin. She is survived by her husband Merlin and her son Scott Edmunds and his wife Kelly of Vona. She is also survived two step sons Mike Ford and his wife Konne of Strasburg, CO and Ted Ford and his wife Angela of Olathe, KS; two step daughters Jane Gurley and her husband Joe of Vona and Joan Dasenbrock and her husband John of Lawrence, KS. She is also survived by two granddaughters, eleven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild; five brothers Larry Eastin and his wife Jean of Arriba, Colorado, Jerry Eastin and his wife Karen of Holly, Colorado, William Eastin and his wife Barb of Parker, Colorado, Robert and his wife Jeannie of Evans, Colorado and Ronald Eastin and his wife Roberta of Sterling, Colorado; two sisters Patty Hickman and her husband Dennis of Seibert, Colorado and Donna Horton and her husband Bud of Brainerd, Minnesota, as well as two uncles and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Memorial services for Mrs. Ford were held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Vona Community Center in Vona, Colorado with Pastor Ben Janzen officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Vona, Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Colleen’s name to the Vona Worthwhile Home Demonstration Club Scholarship Fund and may be sent to or left at the First National Bank in Stratton.
