Donald Henry

Donald Ray Henry, 69, of Genoa, CO passed away July 4, 2006 at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, CO. Donald was born on January 26, 1937 in Genoa, CO to Ray and Zellah (Carter) Henry the oldest of eight children. Donald graduated from Genoa Public School in 1956 and then entered military service. Don was a Dental Lab Tech in the United States Army. He was active duty from 1956 to 1978 serving in Germany, Okinawa, Texas, California, New Jersey, and Kansas. Donald married Rose M. Howe in Genoa, CO on October 17, 1956 and the couple was blessed with four children. After retiring from military service Donald went to work as a supply manager for McDonalds in Limon, CO. He enjoyed reading the Bible, singing and being in the church choir and was instrumental in starting Evangelical Community Church in Genoa, CO and attended the Full Gospel Assembly in Limon, CO. Don collected coins, eagles, and mini antique cars. He was a member of the American Legion. Don enjoyed landscaping operating a lawn and landscaping business. He also enjoyed traveling, hiking, playing tennis and riding his bike. Don was a family man and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his mother; Zellah Henry, and brother-in-law; Earl Silsbee. He is survived by his father; Ray Henry of Genoa, CO, his beloved wife; Rose Henry of Genoa, CO, sons; Raymond (Doris) Henry of Limon, CO, John (Michelle) Henry of Thornton, CO, daughters; Deana Henry of Limon, CO, Amy (Mark) Riemenschneider of Genoa, CO, five brothers; Delbert (Joyce) Henry of Brush, CO, Dean (Sharon) Henry of Limon, CO, David (Margaret) Henry of Fairbanks, AL, Darroll (Susan) Henry of Tucson, AZ, and Darvon (Laura) Henry of Florissant, CO, two sisters; Donna Silsbee of Flagler, CO and Doris (Bill) Tolley of Fairbanks, AL, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with one expected in November of this year and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services for Donald were held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Full Gospel Assembly in Limon, CO. Burial will follow at the Genoa Community Cemetery in Genoa, CO.
