Donald Edward Ruby age 86 of Limon, Colorado passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Simla Good Samaritan Center in Simla, Colorado. Donald was born December 16, 1925 in Orleans, Nebraska to Orvy Bennett and Nora Ella (Beam) Ruby.
Donald served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and enlisted on February 22, 1944. He was in operations against enemy forces in the Southern Philippine Islands Campaign. He earned the ranked of Corporal (E-4) and was Honorably Discharged on May 23, 1946.
He married Mabel Jeane Clopton on April 1, 1947 in McCook, Nebraska. They shared over sixty-five years of marriage. To this union they shared four children, Jeri, Gary, Pat and Rick.
Don worked for the Foster Lumber Company for forty-three years. He also managed lumber yards in South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, Jeane Ruby; four children, Jeri Ruby of Pittsburgh, PA; Gary Ruby (Barb) of Castle Rock, CO, Pat Sunderland (Randy) of Delta, CO, Rick Ruby (Maria) of Elkhorn, WI; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Coffey.
