Donna Bergquist

Burlington, Colorado resident Donna Jean Bergquist, age 72, died Thursday March 13, 2009 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington. Donna was born on May 27, 1936 in Brewster, Kansas to Lloyd and Nancy (Thompson) Sporing. She was a graduate of Brewster High School in 1953. She was a certified nurses aide at Cheyenne Manor in Cheyenne Wells, CO. Later she was the head cashier at ALCO in Burlington. On March 18, 1954 she was united in marriage to Glenn Johnson in Great Falls, MT. To this union two children were born, Gary and Glenda. In 1965 Donna was united in marriage to Van Cloyd in Goodland, KS. They had two children Kalin and Vanessa. On May 23, 1985 she was united in marriage to Walter Bergquist in Greeley, Colorado. Preceding Donna in death were her parents, a grandson John Clarence Walstrom, and her nephew Jim Kibel. Surviving family members are her loving husband Walter of their home in Burlington. Her children Gary Johnson and wife Cheryl of Kersey, CO, Glenda Walstrom and husband Greg of Burlington, CO, Kalin Cloyd and wife Liz of San Antonio, TX, Shelia Bergquist of Cool, CA, Vanessa Cloyd and special friend H.L. Williams of Eckley, CO. Donna is also survived by three sisters Letha Kibel and husband Art of Canon City, CO, Mary Ann Rupp of Ogden, UT, and Nancy Brown and husband Benny of Haxton, CO. Two brothers; Bill Sporing and wife Sue of Superior, NE and Ronald Sporing and wife Linda of Haxton, CO. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Donna will be Monday March 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials for Donna may be made in her name to the American Heart Association and may be left at or sent to the Bank of The West in Burlington.
