Donna Lee James left this earthly realm on February, 5th, 2022, one day before her birthday at the age of 82 from metastatic cancer. Donna also had a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She died at home in Bennett, Colorado surrounded by family and friends.
It would be wrong to say that Donna lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Donna was born February 6, 1939 in Denver Colorado. She was adopted by Clara and Joseph Prewett shortly after her birth. During her life time she ran several home based businesses: Avon, Crafts - Sewing and Jewelry, Dog Show Vendor, and a successful Travel Agency. Her hobbies included gardening, softball, showing her Yorkshire Terriers, and her passion was hunting elk and deer.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Regina Nickels-Saxton, Rebecca and Kent Wilde, Ramie and Steven Glaze, Theresa and Kevin Hill, Shawnee and Larry Spencer, and her half brother Earl Almdale. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and her valued friend Julie Becker. Donna is predeceased by her parents Clara Snyder, and Joseph Prewett, and her biological father Clarence Hopkins, husband Jesse A. James, half sister Elaine Manaldi, half brother Robert Hopkins, and grandson Mark Parker.
Donna was a mother and wife and a true friend too many.
