Doris Pearl McCoy Hoppes, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
Doris was born on December 15, 1921 in Connersville, Indiana to Frank Cleveland and Anna (George) McCoy. She married Lawrence William Hoppes on April 4, 1941.
Survivors include daughter Jacquelene (Robert) Oyler of Whiteland; sons Charles (Karen) Hoppes and Vernon (Cheryl) Hoppes, both of Denver, Colorado; sister Mary McCoy Shumaker Morgan of Blacklick, Ohio; grandchildren, Troy Oyler of Seattle, Washington; Jeannine Oyler (Scott) Percifield of Bargersville; Todd Oyler of Owasso, Oklahoma; Venessa Jean Hoppes (Efren) Arrellano of Denver and Aaron Hoppes of Denver and great-grandchildren Chad, Christopher & Tyler Percifield of Bargersville.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, Lawrence W. Hoppes, sisters Zona Richards and Helen Wilson and brothers Harold McCoy and Lowell McCoy.
Doris was a graduate of Dayton Business School.She held various positions in the food industry most of her adult life. She was elected Mayor of Town of Ramah Colorado in 1990. She served one term in office.Doris was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
