Dorothy EmJean Rhoads

Dorothy Emjean Rhoads, 88 of Limon, Colorado passed away on June 4^th, 2023 in Aurora, Colorado. Dorothy was born on May 17^th, 1935 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Jesse and Minnie (Rider) Hall. At the age of 6 years old the family moved to Limon. She loved the town, working as a cook in several café’s, raised her 3 children and enjoyed the small town life. Dorothy married James Rhoads on September 14^th, 1950 in Burlington, Colorado and the couple celebrated 65 years of marriage before James passed away. The couple were blessed with four children. Dorothy loved her family and friends. She enjoyed her yellow roses every year and her purple lilacs. Her favorite color was purple. She enjoyed doing puzzle books and coloring pictures. She loved getting to spend time with her great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren who just happened to live next door.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, step father, husband James, infant daughter Georgia Ann, daughter Ima Jean Stars, brother James Hall and brother in law Gene Meredith. Dorothy is survived by her children, son Terry L. (Pamela) Rhoads of Westmoreland, Kansas, daughter Susan C. (Ronald) Jaques of Arriba, Colorado. Dorothy is also survived by six grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Carlene (Les) Knisley of Commerce City, Colorado and Kay Meredith of Casper, Wyoming, sister in law, Rafaila Hall of Aurora, Colorado, four nieces and nephews and several friends that will dearly miss her.
