Drew Gustafson

Biography John Andrew (Drew) Gustafson, 68, of Burlington, Colorado passed away with peace and grace on July 29, 2015. Drew was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma on February 2, 1947. He attended Shattuck High School and then joined the U.S. Navy in 1964. Leaving with honorable discharge after serving a year. Drew was married to Mardy Jo on May 6, 1990. They were married for 25 years, sharing many great travels and fun times with family and friends. Drew pursued his dream of being a Disc Jockey and hosted several morning radio shows over the years. He had recently been the Saturday host on KGCR Tri-State Praise. He was also very actively involved in the Burlington and Cheyenne Wells lodge of Masons #77. He had a love of motorcycle riding. In the past he was a member of Kiwana's. He loved spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren. In the past he worked in the computer industry and loved working with new technology. Drew spent his last days in the community of Burlington. He said it was his only real home, and he always appreciated the love of friends and neighbors that flowed so freely. Drew is survived by his loving wife and best friend Mardy Jo; his brothers: Neil Thomas (Joy), Victor Jr. (Brenda), and Joel (Michelle). His children; daughter Gwendolyn (Russell) of Burlington, daughter Morgan (Shawn) Russum of Leipsic, Delaware, son Austin (Sandy) of Colorado Springs, son Brandon of Nunn, CO, and daughter Lisa of Spottswood, New Jersey; grandchildren: Christopher, Benjamen, Antigone, Austin, Ephrem, Roarie, Andrew, Bethany, Isadora, Jackson, Ayla, Matthew, Amada, and Tyler; and devoted dog Bella. Many neices and nephews, family and friends and anyone he saw that he talked to ( which was never a stranger). He leaves us rich in memories, humor and happy times. Drew was predeceased by his parents Joy and Victor Schibbelhute and John and Ruth Gustafson as well as his son Jason.
