View Video Tribute Dwaine Roy Johnson was born June 03, 1947 to Roy and Elna (James) Johnson in Burlington, Colorado. He met his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was raised on the family farm eighteen miles northeast of Burlington. He first attended Happy Hallow School near his home and finished his education in Burlington, graduating in 1965. After graduating he attended Emmaus Bible School in Oak Park, Illinois for two years, and then transferred to Rockmont College in Lakewood, Colorado, graduating in 1970. While attending Rockmont, he met and married his wife, Karole, in August of 1968. They then moved to Burlington, where he farmed and ranched with his dad and brother. Because of health problems, Dwaine was unable to continue farming and ranching. He then worked for the Farm Service Agency office and later the Kit Carson County landfill. Due to increasing health problems, he was unable to work. He entered Grace Manor Nursing home on July 30th and passed away August 21st, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elna; his brother, Gary; his sister, Wanda; his niece, Mandy and nephews, Billy and Matthew. He is survived by his wife, Karole and grandson, Austin; son, Nathan of Denver; brother-in-law, Larry Klinger of Broomfield, CO; nephew, Les Klinger (Terri) of Northglenn, CO; niece, Rhonda Murray (John) of Westminister, CO and daughters, Leisha, Thorton, CO; and Loni, Westminister, CO; sister-in-law, Marilyn Rhoades (Paul) of Burlington, sons, Brad Johnson of Eagle, CO and Brett Johnson of Ft. Collins, CO. His presence will be missed by many. Funeral Services for Mr. Johnson were held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 10:30 at the Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Ron Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington, Colorado. Visitation was held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Love Funeral Home, Burlington, Colorado. Memorial may be made in his name to the Caring Hands of Hospice or an educational fund for his grandson, Austin and may be left at the First National Bank, Burlington, Colorado.
