Earl Lee Simon, age 84 of Limon, Colorado passed away March 5, 2007 at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, CO. Earl was born September 22, 1922 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Walter Lee and Edna Lavonia (Shirley) Simon. Earl married Waunita Ivene Hager on October 4, 1947 in Canon City, Colorado. To this union three daughters were born. Earl moved to Limon in 1939. He was the creator and owner of Earl Simon Pipe Cleaning. Earl was a gold card member of the PRCA. He was also a member of the Limon Gun Club and the Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa, Colorado. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing, gambling and participating in rodeo’s. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Frances Van Horn. Earl was survived by his wife Waunita Simon of Limon, CO; three daughters Shennan Solze of Hugo, CO, Janet and husband Ed McClure of Colorado Springs, CO, and Cindy and husband Chad Marcellay of Colorado Springs, CO; one grandson Jess Solze of Hugo, CO; two sisters Effie Burdella Lange of Limon, CO, and Ruby and husband Wes Schoonover of Hugo, CO. Memorials are suggested to the Limon Memorial Library P.O. Box 236 Limon, CO 80828. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon with Rev. Donald Schultz, officiating.
