Edward Ruhter

Edward George Ruhter, 82, of Hugo, CO passed away on August 20, 2007 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home. Edward was born on December 19, 1924 in Gurley, NE to Paul Henry and Cecil Gertrude (Owerhalsen) Ruhter one of three children. Growing up in Nebraska he graduated from Arriba, NE. After graduating Edward enlisted in the United States Army serving his country during WWII, something he was very proud of. Edward married Della Mae Stewart on September 24, 2004 in Kersey, NE. He loved to read all kinds of material putting them in categories and creating special folders of things he especially loved. Edward enjoyed working cross word puzzles, watching Jeopardy and couldn’t miss a garage sale. Over the years he collected a lot of 78 records and many other treasures from his day at the sale. Edward was a lifetime member of the V.F.W / American Legion he was a likeable guy who loved to talk with people. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, son Thomas and daughter Cynthia Finley. He is survived by his wife Della of Hugo, CO, brothers; Don Ruhter of Moab, UT and Kenny Ruhter. He is also survived by grandchildren and friends. Services will be held at a later date.
