Biography Elaine Catherine Rueb, 59, passed away peacefully at her home on May 7, 2010 with her family and loved ones by her side. Elaine fought a courageous 4 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer and did much to advance the research of this disease by participating in many clinical trials. She was raised on the family farm west of Stratton, Colorado, attended St. Charles Academy the first through eighth grades, and graduated from Stratton High School in 1968. Elaine attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, for two years and completed her education at Colorado State University with a major in business. Elaine began her career at the First National Bank of Denver. She spent 30 years in mortgage banking and retired in 2006 as a senior loan officer for Affiliated Financial Group, Inc. Elaine and her loving partner of 32 years, Dick Miller, traveled the world together. She loved gardening, old movies and was a connoisseur of music. Elaine was also a tireless volunteer for various ovarian cancer projects.
