Erma Boland

Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Erma Boland passed away on August 1, 2008 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, Colorado at the age of 76 years old. Erma Olive (Runge) Boland was born May 4, 1932 near Kanorado, Kansas, to Harry and Martha Runge. Erma was baptized as a small infant and confirmed in her teenage years, and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended the local schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1949. Erma was united in marriage to Harold Boland on June 5, 1957, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Colorado. They resided in Burlington where she helped Harold start the Boland Insurance Agency. On August 22, 1961 Erma and Harold had their only daughter, Betty Jane. On August 2, 1967 they had their only son, Donald Jerry. Erma was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Martha Runge, 2 infant brothers, 2 infant sisters, and her husband Harold Boland. Erma is survived by her daughter Betty Jane and her husband Douglas Chandler, her son Donald Jerry and Tammy Mosness all of Burlington, one sister Alice Stahlecker of Rocky Ford, Colorado and several other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Erma were held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the Love Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Visitation was held on Monday, August 4, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington, Colorado.
