Essie Platt

Essie Viola Platt, age 98, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Wichita, Kansas. Essie was born on January 21, 1911 at Merrimac, Oklahoma the daughter of Lyman and Mamie Platt. Essie received a BA from Friends University and MA from the University of Colorado. She taught at Friends University for 44 years before retiring in 1976 where she served as Professor of English and Business. Essie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Goldie Ellis, and sister in law Esther. Essie is survived by her brothers Elmer and wife Linda Platt of La Habra, CA, Ellis Platt of Denver, CO, sisters, Myrtle and husband Larry Olmstead of Oshkosh, WI, and Ivy and Don Reynolds of Denver, CO.
