Eugene (Gene) LeRoy Hase

Eugene (Gene) LeRoy Hase, 84, of Stratton, Colorado died on February 8th, 2023 in Burlington, Colorado.
Gene was born November 30, 1938 to Virgil Ralph Hase and Hope Icie (Smith) Hase in Seibert, Colorado. Gene was the oldest of two children. He had one sister, Helena Miller. He was raised in Seibert and graduated from Seibert High School. As a kid, he could be found riding his bicycle or on the back of his horse, and always with a group of friends.
While attending Seibert High School, Gene met his future wife, Mary “Mickey” (McElroy) Hase. They married on August 11th, 1959. To this union, five children were born, Cecilia, Jeff, Annette, John, and Andy. They raised their family in Seibert, where Gene worked at the Seibert Equity Coop and held the manager position until his retirement.
After his retirement, Gene and Mickey moved to Stratton where they enjoyed their home on the golf course. Gene and Mickey loved to golf, and spent many days out on the course together. His other favorite pastimes included reading, puzzles and making Christmas candy (his toffee popcorn was sought by many each holiday season).
Gene is preceded in death by his parents (Virgil and Hope Hase), son (John Hase), grandson (Dustin Blackwell), and daughter-in-law (Audrey Hase).
He is survived by his wife, Mickey Hase, children Cecilia (Carl) Blackwell, Jeff (Brenda) Hase, Annette (Tony) Isenbart, and Andy Hase, grandchildren Amy Blackwell, Erin Blackwell, Jennifer (Ryan) Morgan, Leslie (Kevin) Mason, Devin (Amber) Hase, Seth (Keren) Isenbart, Amanda (Blake) Cure, Austin (Hanna) Hase, Tyler Hase, Carley Hase, great grandchildren Teagan, Cooper, Mila, Nora, Eli, Celina, Kennedy, Jackson, Bentley, Asher, and Leela, and sister Helena (Jim) Miller.
Rosary will be held at 3 PM, Sunday February 12, at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton, CO. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday February 13, at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton with interment following at Calvary Cemetery in Stratton, CO.
Gene’s kindness and humility will be missed by all. Donations to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital can be made at TBK Bank in Stratton, Colorado.
