Eva Fern McClintock Cox was born on April 28, 1911 in Meade County, South Dakota to Frank and Cora McClintock. She had three brothers; Waldon, Alfred and Rex, and three sisters; Iva, Ava and Roberta.
She married Buford (Bud) Cox on September 3, 1928. Their first home was about 20 miles south of Limon. Bud and Eva had a Star Route in Deer Trail. They then moved to Hugo where Nadine was born. After a brief stint in St. Joseph, Missouri, they moved back to Limon where Franklin, Herbert (Roy), Donna and Richard were born. In 1955 they relocated to Oregon.
Eva worked at the MacLaren School for Boys for 17 years. She was known as their House Mother. She retired and they returned to Limon. Bud died in 1979.
Eva had many hobbies, but was known for her award winning quilts. Eva remained in Limon until 2005 when she moved into the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She remained there until her passing on March 11, 2011.
Eva was preceded in death by her children, Nadine, Donna, Franklin, Roy and Richard, and her granddaughter, Kristine Raines Flavell. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
