Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Frances Anna Genthe, age 99, died Thursday April 24, 2008 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington.
Frances was born in Syracuse, Nebraska on July 25, 1908 to Mary Iva (Alexander) and William Clement Jacobson.
On January 15, 1927, Frances was united in marriage to Henry August Genthe in Wray, Colorado. To this union two children were born, Valta and Harold.
Frances loved playing BINGO and cards. She and her friends played many late night games of the marble game Aggravation. She enjoyed visiting, especially on the telephone, and the time she spent in her flower garden.
Preceding Frances in death were her parents, her husband Henry in 1969, granddaughter Sharon Young and three brothers Lloyd, Floyd, and Lester Jacobson. She is also preceded in death by a son in law Arthur Martens.
Surviving family members are her daughter Valta Martens, her son Harold Genthe and his wife Myrol both of Burlington, CO. Six grandchildren LeEtta Ridder, Randy Genthe, Kristy Curtis, Kent Martens, Dana Feit, and Linda Bates. Thirteen Great-Grandchildren and Eight Great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Amanda Jacobson of Burlington, CO and many nieces nephews and two very special friends and neighbor Norma Harrison and Violet Knapp.
Funeral services for Frances will be Monday April 28, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Burlington with Pastor Tom Peacock officiating. Burial will follow the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington.
Memorials may be made in Francesâ name and may be left at the Bank of Burlington.
