View Video Tribute Fred William Klann Jr., age 99, of Arriba, Colorado passed away April 24, 2007 at Carla’s Cluster Care in Limon, Colorado. Fred was born October 21, 1907 in a sod house on the family homestead northeast of Arriba to Fred J. Sr. and Johanna (Petsch) Klann. Fred resided on the homestead his entire life, except for a brief time when he attended a Parochial School in Brighton, Colorado and St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas in the early 1920s. Fred married Sarah Huber on the Huber farm south of Arriba on June 14, 1940. To this union two sons were born, Douglas and Warren. Fred was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arriba and the Lions Club. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, and especially taking long walks to check the fields. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sarah, five sisters, and four brothers. Fred is survived by: two sons, Douglas and wife Alethia Klann of Flagler, CO and Warren Klann of Arriba, CO; four grandchildren, Michael and wife Alise and their children Cameron, Kyle, and Katelyn Klann of Flagler, CO; Mitchell and wife Ann and their son Mason Klann of Chandler, AZ; Nicole and husband Herschel and their children Landon and Larissa Salmans of Wray, CO; and Brittany Clevenger of Flagler, CO. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arriba, CO with Pastor James Elmshauser officiating. Burial followed in the Arriba Cemetery near Arriba, CO. Memorials are suggested to the Lincoln Community Ambulance Service, P.O.
