George F. Buchholz age 94 of Arvada and formerly of Burlington Colorado passed away September 8, 2005 at his home in Arvada.
George was born December 17, 1910 in Garden Plain, Kansas to Charles and Regina (Gunzelman) Buchholz.
George married Martha R. Gorges on July 22, 1942 in Colwich, Kansas and to this union two sons were born.
George and Martha made their home in Burlington, Colorado from 1951 to 1996 when they moved to be closer to their son Tom and his family.
George is a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Arvada and a former member of St. Catherineâs Catholic Church in Burlington. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus. George was quite the handy man and enjoyed working with his hands whether that be making furniture, repairing engines, or making toys for the grand children. He enjoyed fishing when time permitted and loved the land that he farmed.
George was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert Buchholz, five sisters, and seven brothers.
George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Buchholz of Arvada, CO. One son Tom and wife Debbie Buchholz of Arvada. Grandchildren Kyle and wife Patty Buchholz of Denver, CO, Marlies Buchholz of Arvada, CO, Michael Buchholz of Denver, CO, Jataime Buchholz of Phoenix, AZ, Robert and wife April of Kansas City, KS, and David and wife Lana Buchholz of Chicago, IL. One great great granddaughter Alyvia Buchholz of Arvada, CO. One brother Vincent and wife Mary Ann Buchholz of Roggen, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherineâs Catholic Church in Burlington, Colorado. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington.
