Gerald Plautz

Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Gerald Charles Plautz passed away on August 4, 2008 at his home near Burlington. He was 78 years old. Gerald was born on June 10, 1930 in Malcolm, Nebraska to Fred and Sophie (Lange) Plautz. He was one of two children. Gerald attended school in Burlington and graduated from the Burlington High School in 1948. On June 2, 1957, Gerald married Sally Patricia Woodson in Burlington. To this union two daughters were born, Linda and Laurie. Pat also brought three children into this union; Mike, Rick and Beverly Trahern. Gerald was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed going fishing and doing woodworking. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Pat of the home, two sons Mike Trahern and his wife Dian and Rick Trahern all of Burlington; three daughters Laurie Plautz and her husband John Northwood of Walnut Creek, California, Linda Rouse of Bakersfield, California and Beverly Trahern of Frazer, Colorado. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one sister Mary Ann Simmons of Seiling, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Mr. Plautz were held on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation was held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington. Memorials may be made in Gerald’s name to the Trinity Lutheran Church or to the DaVita Dialysis Center and may be left at the Bank of Burlington, Burlington, Colorado.
