View Video Tribute Geraldine “June� Lawder,81, of Bloomington, Illinois formerly of Peyton, CO passed away in Bloomington, Illinois on August 21, 2006. June was born October 14, 1924 in Bucklin, Kansas, the daughter of Edward Albert Simmons and Zeda Marie Kirkpatrick Simmons. She married Stan Lawder on November 11, 1942 in Liberal, Kansas. He preceded her in death August 29, 1996 in Peyton, CO. Surviving are two daughters; Kathy (Dick) Moore of Heyworth, IL and Dixie (Jack) Weiss of Brook, IN; four grandchildren Danna (Tim)and their children Ryan and Sean Breen of Rantoul, IL, Raegan and children Ruthie and Rory June Wheeldon of Goodland, IN, Eric (Deb) and their children Logan and Connor Moore of Heyworth, IL and Brock Kilgore of Colorado Springs, CO, and a brother in law Jay Kleysteuber of Kansas, Sister in-law Neola Freeman of Calhan June was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stan, a brother Edward A. “Bud� Simmons and two sisters Jeane Rixon and Doris Kleysteuber. June was a member of Living Word Community Church and Thunderbird Home Demonstration Club. She was an accomplished seamstress and outstanding cook with an emphasis on baking wonderful desserts and bread. She took joy in being a “rancher’s assistant� to Stan and raising their daughters and watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Her positive approach to life and her sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral services for June will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Living Word Community Church with burial at the Simla Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO.
