Glenda Womack, 82, passed away on February 14th, 2025, with her son and daughter by her side. She was born in Beatrice, Nebraska and grew up in Arriba, Colorado. After graduation from Arriba High School, she moved to the Denver area, where she worked in airlines reservations. Taking advantage of her long fingers, exceptional typing skills (very fast) and knowledge of business machines, she then worked as a keypunch operator at Mountain Bell, programming punch cards for the computing and engineering staff.
She met her husband Thomas (Tom) Womack while out dancing with friends one evening, and Glenda and Tom were married in September of 1967. They settled in Arvada, Colorado, and had two children, Gary Womack and Janet Womack.
As her children grew, Glenda returned to work part time as a school cook like her own mother, and later as a cook at Craig Hospital.
Glenda loved plants and gardening, and was a true Green Thumb. She could often be found in the front yard weeding and tending to the many vibrant colored flowers she had planted. People would often stop while walking or driving by to tell her how beautiful the yard and flowers looked.
Glend was also an avid sports fan, and spent many nights and weekends watching and supporting her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews at their various sporting events. She rarely, if ever, missed her children’s games and could often be found in the bleachers keeping score at our baseball and softball games.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Brunke and Tina Schmidt; sister, Lucille Larsen; brother, Roland Schmidt, and husband, Thomas Womack.
Glenda is survived by her son, Gary Womack; daughter, Janet Womack; grandsons Oliver and Ryan Womack; sister-in-law, Peggy Schmidt, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother and will forever be in our hearts.
