Harold Rico

Longtime resident of Burlington, Harold Marvin Eugene Rico was born October 23, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Joseph and Esther (Klemz) Rico. He married Judy D. Chandler on January 15, 1979 at her parent’s home in Burlington. To this union three children were born Crissine Joy, Jannon Mera and Cale Cade. Harold worked at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital and the Kit Carson County Courthouse as a janitor. He also hauled trash for the city of Burlington. Weekends and evenings he worked at the skate bowl , he loved teaching the children to skate and getting skates repaired for everyone. He was a loving father and husband. The family did a lot of fun things together, like taking his children bike riding. He also loved going fishing and going on trips with his family. As a young child he attended elementary school in California. Harold graduated from Burlington High School in 1966. Harold passed away on July 15, 2012 at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital due to health complications. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Crissine Joy, sisters; Wanita Rico, Norma Schoonover, brother Arlene Rico and niece Mardella Lightle. Harold is survived by his wife Judy of the home, daughter Jannon of Stratton, son Cale of Burlington, brother-in-law Dennis and his wife Susan of Snowflake, AZ, niece Julia Buell and family of Utah, sister Mardella Brown and family of Longmont, CO.
