James Clement

October 12, 1922 — June 11, 2011

James Donald Clement, age 88 of Limon, Colorado passed away, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, Colorado. Jim was born October 12, 1922 in Bristow, Oklahoma the son of Lemuel and Gladys (Shanks) Clement. He graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas. Jim graduated from for Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas with a Business Degree. Jim proudly joined the United States Navy during WWII, serving three years and ten months in the South Pacific. On February 14, 1948 Jim was united in marriage to Helen Ruth Speer in Ballinger, Texas. They shared over sixty-three years of marriage. Jim was the owner and operator of two clothing stores in Limon and Springfield, Colorado. He was the Lincoln County Commissioner for eight years and served on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank in Limon for thirty-eight years. Jim was a 32nd Degree member of the Masonic Lodge in Limon for over sixty years. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and especially rebuilding Volkswagens. James is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; one granddaughter, Nicolette (Frank) Munoz; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Analese, Cloe, Daniel of Washington State, Washington; five nieces, Judy (Tom) Guenther of Texas, Brenda (David) Bird of Texas, Kathryn Mooney of Texas, Mary Beth Carpenter of Texas and Wanda (Gene) Dillard of Texas and sister Betty Jo Gardner of Texas. Mr. Clement was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Richard Clement; three sisters; and one brother.
