Janet Goetzcke

Janet Goetzcke was born June 19, 1936 along with her twin Janice to Earl J. Feather and Eleanor (Green) Feather in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Golden, Colorado and graduated from Golden High School. Janet met John in Golden and on April 29, 1954 she became his wife at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado. Four children blessed this union, Dave, Thomas, Sharon and Coral. Janet worked a few jobs over the years but the one she enjoyed the most was a teacher’s aid at Pleasant View Elementary. She loved working with the 6th grade classes. John and Janet moved to Limon in 1980 where over the years they enjoyed their grandchildren and traveling. They spent a lot of time dancing at every dance they could find, including a cruise with Club Dance on TNN. Janet was unfortunately slowed down with a Parkinsonism diagnosis in 2009. Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Goetzcke, her parents, eight sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband, John Goetzcke of Limon, CO; their two sons, Dave Goetzcke of Bixby, OK and Thomas Goetzcke of Salina, KS; one daughter, Coral Hartnett of Castle Rock, CO. She is also survived by her twin sister, Janice Rawlings of Diamond, MO; six grandchildren, Cassandra, Jonathan, Christina, Janell, Brandy and Shylah; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many.
