Jean Opal Wann

July 18, 1926 — February 23, 2017

Jean O. Wann of Simla, Colorado went to be with her Lord on February 23, 2017. Born July 18, 1926 in Monticello, Kentucky to James and Hulda (Sexton) Alexander, she received her education in and around the Monticello area and various “tobacco patches” in Wayne County, Kentucky. She married John H. Wann on June 10, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico. Together they raised three children, Linda E. Glidden, John Stephen Wann and James E. Wann. She went from “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II to homemaker and later to a successful career with a subsidiary of American Telephone & Telegraph in the Denver, Colorado area. She retired with her husband to Simla, Colorado where they were engaged in the livestock business. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Wann, son John Stephen Wann, parents and five siblings. She is survived by her daughter Linda E. (Doug) Glidden of Simla, Colorado, son James E. (Kimberly) Wann of Torrington, Wyoming, six grandchildren, Carrie Glidden-Lewis (Ralph) of rural Elbert County, Colorado, Tammie Sabata (Marcus), Deerfield, Kansas, Shaun Glidden, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mikel Glidden, Fowler, Kansas, Dylan Wann (Deanna), Lubbock, Texas and Alexander Wann (Carola), Abilene, Texas, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family of Jean Wann would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Lincoln Community Hospital and Care Center in Hugo, Colorado for the excellent care extended to her. We appreciate your professionalism and kindness.
