Jeannette Liebl

Jeannette Liebl, age 88 of Stratton passed away November 4, 2007. She was born on November 14, 1918 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Stella and Alex Cravens. Her father, Alex Cravens was a flour miller by trade. Growing up during the depression, Jeanette and her family lived in a various small southeast Kansas towns, Oklahoma and Arkansas. As a member of her sisters dancing studio, Jeannette was a talented tap dancer. She graduated from Peabody High where she was a cheerleader and a member of the drama club. After graduating from high school, Jeannette worked as a waitress in McPherson, Kansas, where she met her husband, Frank Liebl. They were married at St. Peters Church in Kansas City, Kansas on May 4, 1940. After living in McPherson, Kansas for three years, Frank and Jeannette brought their family to Stratton to begin farming. Jeannette was a homemaker, member of the Altar & Rosary Society, an active member of the St. Charles Parish and a library volunteer. She enjoyed needlepoint, family photo albums and other crafts. Jeannette is survived by her son, Nean Liebl and wife Sue of Stratton, Colorado. Granddaughter Kim Hatfield and husband Mike of Seibert, Colorado and great grandchildren Weston and Whitney. Granddaughter Robin Erker and husband Jeff of Roggen, Colorado and great grandchildren Quade and Jacob. Daughter, Teresa (Terri) Douglas and husband John of Castle Rock, Colorado. Grandson Eric Douglas and wife Deana of Oxford, Alabama and great grandchildren Ruby and Nancy. Granddaughter Ashley Curran and husband Kevin of Denver, Colorado and great grandchildren Caroline and Jack. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank, and siblings Nean, Stella and Jimmy. Funeral services for Jeannette were held on November 8, 2007 at 2:30 PM at the St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Ernie Bond officiating. Burial followed at the Calvary Cemetery, Stratton, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made in Jeannette’s name and sent to Love Funeral Home to benefit Grace Manor Care Center or the Cancer Research Foundation.
