Jeffery Allen Humbert was born in Denver on April 8th, 1957, to Ralph and Juanita Humbert. He was the first of four children. His early childhood was spent in various small towns around Colorado where his father worked on ranches and construction jobs. His favorite childhood home was Sedalia, where he joined 4-H and raised and showed a beautiful Angus steer named Buster.
When Jeff was in middle school, his dad joined the Army and moved the family to San Francisco, California. He attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Stockton, California until he left to join the Army in 1974. He went to boot camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky (he always said “nowhere near the gold”). He was a tank gunner in Bravo Troop, 1-10 Calvary unit and served one tour in Germany before returning to Colorado and serving the rest of his time at Fort Carson and was honorably discharged in 1980. He spent the rest of his career in security, a job he loved, retiring from Front Range Community College.
He married Jeanine LaBelle in 1977; they were married for 5 years and had one son, Cory. His second marriage was to Amber Howard in 1987 and they had a daughter, Katherine Anne Humbert.
Kathy married Joshua Alcon on February 14, 2008; and they blessed Jeff with four beautiful grandchildren: Josslyn Rae, Helena Grace, Joshua Jeffery and Hannahlynne Jean.
Jeff enjoyed many hobbies, including model building, gun collecting, his beautiful blue Mustang and sports. He was an avid Broncos, Rockies and Nascar fan. He was an amateur photographer and loved being behind the camera, but not so much in front of it.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Juanita; brothers Ed(Cheryl) Humbert, Byron (Deb) Humbert, sister Cindi (Morris) Doss; daughter Katherine (Josh) Alcon; grandchildren Josslyn, Helena, J.J. and Hannah; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father Ralph Humbert.
Memorial contributions can be made to Bennett VFW.
