Joseph James Cullyford
Born to John Frances and Louise Theresa Cullyford in Mercy Hospital, Denver, CO on July 17, 1944. He passed away after a lengthy illness on August 13, 2021 in Lubbock, TX.
Joseph attended Cherry Creek High School and graduated on June 6, 1962. He entered the US Army on February 15, 1963, and was stationed overseas. Honorably discharged on January 31, 1969, Joseph returned to Denver and worked for Caterpillar Equipment Company. He began his career with the Colorado State Patrol on May 1, 1970, when he was stationed in Limon, Colorado. Joseph earned numerous Commendations for his service with the State Patrol, retiring on June 1, 1997. Generous with his time and hospitality, Joseph enjoyed hosting family events in his home and traveling to celebrate the achievements of his children and grandchildren.
Joseph is survived by his spouse Alice Cullyford; daughter Sandy Kraft (Michael) from Germany; sons David Cullyford (Tina) of Englewood, CO and Shawn Cullyford (Lauren) of Parker, CO; brother John Cullyford of Colorado Springs; step-children Jeffrey Zimmerman from Colorado Springs, Kenneth Zimmerman (Brenda) from San Angelo, TX and Laura Robinson (Aaron) from Lubbock, TX. Joseph is also survived by numerous grandchildren; Hendrick, from Germany; Jillian and Mallory Cullyford from Parker, CO; Ryland Cullyford from Englewood, CO; and step-grandchildren Connor Zimmerman (Justine) from The Colony, TX; Hunter Zimmerman from Chicago, IL; Michael and Aly Robinson from Lubbock, TX; and one great grandchild, Atlas Knox Zimmerman, of The Colony, Texas.
