Joyce Ballard

Joyce Ann Ballard, age 61, resident of Genoa, Colorado passed away on March 18, 2011 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born to James and Millie (Ashworth) Ragains on September 27, 1949 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She spent her youth in Rush, Colorado graduating from Billy Mitchell High School in 1968. On December 29, 1969 Joyce married Al Ballard in Colorado Springs, CO and to this union a son, Jeff, and daughter, Danni, were born. Joyce loved being a teacher and especially enjoyed painting with the children. She was kind hearted and was always available to help someone out in need. She enjoyed spending her time completing crafts, ceramics and knitting projects. She had the appetite to travel and some have called her “the perfect tourist”. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Ron; and three uncles, Albert, Bill and Edward Ragains. She is survived by her husband, Al Ballard of Genoa, CO; son, Jeff (Melissa) Ballard of Rush, CO; daughter, Danni (Don) Post of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Wayne Ragains of Rush, CO and Jim (Sunny) Ragains of Irving,TX; grandchildren, Tyler Marie Ballard, Jason Post, Cheyenne Ballard, Colton Ballard, Cameron Ballard, Charly Ballard, and Cooper Ballard. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
