Joyce Darlene Wamsley, 82, of Bennett, Colorado passed away at her home with her loving family by her side August 12, 2010.
Joyce was born November 26, 1927 in Peebles, Ohio, and was one of eight children born to Otis M. and Ruby (Newman) Gordley.
Joyce grew up in Peebles, Ohio graduating high school in 1946. After graduation Joyce met her true love Lloyd Wamsley and was married in Goodland, Kansas on January 15, 1947. To this union four children were born Charles, James, Robert and Kenneth.
Joyce was very passionate about needle work; from sewing and embroidering to quilt work which she blessed her family with over the many years. Joyces quilts have graced not only her childrens' homes but also those of her grandchildren and friends. Spending time with her family and husband camping was one of her favorite things to do. The family would often go to Bonnie Reservoir and spend the weekend camping, boating and water skiing Joyce loved to travel and would jump at any opportunity to do so. Another one of her loves was playing cards, especially at family gatherings when they could all play Canasta. Joyce was also known as the family card shark teaching all of her grandchildren how to play poker.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd and two brothers; James and Rod.
Joyce is survived by her sons; Charles (Danette) Wamsley of Bennett, Colorado, James (Kathy) Wamsley of Gravel Switch, Kentucky, Robert (Louise) Wamsley of Golden, Colorado and Kenneth (Lisa) Wamsley of Madisonville, Texas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
