Jutta Mccall

Former Burlington, Colorado resident Jutta Olga McCall passed away on January 13, 2008 at the North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado. She was 83 years old. Jutta was born on March 16, 1924 in Planitz, Germany to Gustav Ernst Guennel and Agnes Olga Helbig. She was one of five children. Jutta was working for the U.S. Army in Germany as a switchboard operator where she met Sgt Fred J. McCall. They were married July 17, 1950. They raised four children, Don, Fred, Lottie and Fay. Burlington was considered her home whenever her husband’s military assignments did not allow the family to accompany him. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Burlington. Jutta enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and playing cards. Jutta is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister Helga Palinkas. She is survived by her four children; son Don Guennel of Miami, Florida, son Fred McCall of Tucson, Arizona, daughter Lottie Whitmer and her husband Jim of Monte Vista, Colorado and daughter Fay McCall and her partner Karen Muller of Thornton, Colorado. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother Lothar Guennel and his wife Elly of Zwichau, Germany and two sisters Christa Wesenick and her husband Armin of Zwichau, Germany, and Regina Riedrich and her husband Peter of Berlin, Germany. Memorial services for Jutta were held on Friday, January 18, 2007 at 1:30 PM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington with Pastor Jeff Hanson officiating. Burial of ashes followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. Memorials may be made in Jutta’s name and may be left at or sent to Love Funeral Home, 377 15th Street, Burlington, Colorado, 80807.
