Kathryn M. Leach

                Kathryn (Kathy) Marie Leach, age 81, of Genoa, Colorado passed away February 24, 2024.

            She was born January 30, 1943, in Hinton, Oklahoma to Joe and Effie Hartman.   She attended school in Hinton, Oklahoma and graduated in 1962.  While in school she enjoyed playing clarinet in the band as well as basketball. 

            In 1962, Kathy met the love of her life, Jim Leach.  In the spring of 1962, they courted for 5 weeks, were married and began their life of 61 years.  They made their life in Colorado and had 5 children, Kelly, Kim, Connie, Chris and Albert.   Kathy’s passions in life included ranching, gardening, canning, planting flowers and caring for her family.  She always went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.  She always said her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren.

            After her children grew up and had families of their own, she continued cherishing the moments she had with all of them.  Having all the family together during Christmas was one of her favorite times.   She loved decorating the house and giving gifts to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            Kathy is survived by her husband Jim Leach of Genoa, son Kelly Leach of Genoa; daughter Kim (Will) Glass of Genoa; daughter Connie (Mike) McHone of Genoa; son Chris (Laure) Leach of Dodge City, KS; son Albert (Anna) Leach of Karval and numerous nieces and nephews.  14 grandchildren; Kalub, Zach, Ariel, Mariah, Mick, Josh, Al, Tiffany, Dusty, Shelby, Trinity, Aubrey, Tristan and Kirsten and 16 great-grandchildren.  Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Effie, sisters Vi and Margaret, brother Kenneth, grandson Devin and great-grandson Paxton.

`Kathy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
