Leonard Brown, 72, of Limon, Colorado passed away on February 01, 2011 at his home with his family at his side. Leonard was born on October 10, 1938 to Balther and Sophie (Weber) Brown at the family home in Ramah, Colorado. He was raised in a family of eight children. Leonard graduated from high school in 1956 from Ramah High School. He also attended school in Simla, Colorado. Leonard was quite the musician playing the saxophone at the age of 12 for many dances in the area playing until 1985. Leonard met and married Jessie Adelman in Ramah on July 21, 1957 and the couple was blessed with four children. The family lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Commerce City, Colorado for a short time before settling in Limon where they made their home. Leonard worked for the town of Limon as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and welder until retirement in November 11, 2002. He enjoyed working and even after he retired he repaired lawn and garden equipment and did odd jobs for neighbors and friends. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting and the family time spent together just visiting about life. Leonard belonged to the Eagles Lodge for 12 years where he made many friends. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alfred and Adolph and one sister Agatha Kucerick. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jessie of Limon, Colorado and his children; Nancy (David) Walberg of Athens, Texas, Sharon Brown of Peyton, Colorado, Leonard (Sherrel) Brown Jr. of Michigan and Leroy (Robin) Brown of Brush, Colorado. Leonard is also survived by brother Lawrence Brown, and sisters; Leona Dustrude, Linda Farley, Albertine Hodglson and fourteen grandchildren.
