Leonard Johnson, Jr

View Video Tribute Lifelong Burlington, Colorado resident Leonard Willis Johnson, Jr. passed away at his home on April 1, 2008 in Burlington. He was 51 years old. J.R., as he was known to many in the community was born on December 1, 1956 in Burlington, Colorado to Leonard Johnson, Sr. and Bertha May Balanga. He was one of three children. J.R. attended school in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1974. Upon graduating, J.R. continued to help his Mom and Dad run the Burlington Foods Grocery Store. J.R. had two children; a son Leonard Johnson, III, and a daughter Jessica Johnson. J.R. was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Craig Pottorff and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his two children Leonard Johnson, III of Emporia, Kansas and his daughter Jessica Johnson and her son Gavin Fauson of Dodge City, Kansas. He is also survived by his parents Leonard and Bert Johnson of Burlington, his sisters Nancy Gramoll and her husband Lynn of Colorado Springs and Susan Pottorff of Burlington, Colorado. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. There was no visitation, as his wish was to be cremated. Memorials may be made in his name and may be left at the First National Bank in Burlington.
