Lester Reeves

View Video Tribute Lester Reeves, 81, passed away January 20, 2007 in Colorado Springs, CO. Lester was born April 5, 1925 in Simla, CO to W.W. and Minnie Reeves. Lester inherited and ran his parents farm for several years before moving to Denver to operate Reeves Super Service with his brother, Vergil. On July 19, 1959 he married Burdette Bradley in Brighton, CO. After Lester and Burdette married they moved to Alaska and bought a business on the Al-Can Highway near the Canadian border. When Burdette passed away in 1969, he bought a motel in Colorado Springs, operating it for several years and raising his children. In 1979, he started Reeves Superlube with his son, Earl, as partner. After selling the business, they continued a Penske truck rental store together. At the time of his death, Les and Earl had been partners for 28 years. Lester is survived by daughter, Becky Woods (Douglas), grandchildren; Lesley-Anne Shafer and Kyle Woods, of Colorado Springs, daughter, Brenda Shebs (Stephen), grandchildren; Travis, Bradley, Wesley, Mary, Anthony and Samuel of Leesville, Louisiana, son, Earl, grandchildren; Versi and Pierce of Colorado Springs, and his brother, Vergil Reeves of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Burdette; granddaughter, Jenny Woods; and brothers; Ernest, Paul, Harold, Marshall and Earl Reeves. Les loved and appreciated his church family at Faith Baptist Church where he was a member and church treasurer for many years. He will be missed by his family, church family and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the Simla Baptist Church in Simla, CO with interments following at the Simla Cemetery also in Simla.
