Letha F. Weller age 87, of Strasburg, Colorado passed away October 14, 2008 in Aurora, CO.
Letha was born on November 20, 1920 in Fondis, Colorado to Clarence and Bessie E. (Grant) Schriner. She attended and graduated high School in Elizabeth in the spring of 1938. Later that summer on July 6, 1938 she married Art Elden Weller in Pueblo, Colorado. To this union four sons and one daughter were born.
The couple raised their family at Elizabeth, first farming; then owned and operated Wellerâs Grocery from 1958 to 1963. In 1964 the family moved to Strasburg owning Wellerâs Grocery there until 1976. After retirement they lived the remainder of their lives in Strasburg.
Letha was a member of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Womenâs Society, and the Mariners Group, and a past Elder. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, fishing, playing cards, board games, sewing, bowling on a ladies league, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six siblings, one granddaughter Denise.
Letha is survived by four sons Larry and wife Karmen Weller of Alvin, TX, Dan and wife Dianna Weller of Deer Trail, CO, Paul and wife Leslie Weller of Ft. Morgan, CO, and David Weller of Strasburg, CO; and one daughter Kathleen and husband Walt Baessler of Kiowa, CO. Letha is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church in Strasburg, CO with Pastor Bonnie Gormely, officiating. Burial of remains will follow in the Byers Cemetery.
