Lorraine E. (Niedens) (Ravenkamp) Wiseman passed away March 13, 2011 at the age of 89 after a long illness. She was most recently admitted into hospice care while living at the Eben Ezer Nursing Home in Brush, Colorado.
Lorraine was born January 16, 1922 in La Crosse, Kansas to Henry and Rose Niedens. She married Charles Ravenkamp Jr. on December 5, 1942 in Hobbs, New Mexico. They moved to a farm southwest of Hugo in 1946 where they homesteaded. This became known as home to all six of their children.
Lorraine was active in the Catholic Church with the Alter & Rosary and choir. She loved doing the Nativity sets at the church every Christmas. She loved canning and baking. Her specialty to the family was her canned peaches, baked pies, cakes and cinnamon rolls. She loved farm life, working side by side with her husband Charles in the fields, and taking care of animals. But it was her family that she lived for.
She experienced a lot of tragedy in her lifetime however she became a stronger woman because of these events. In 1978, Lorraine lost her husband Charles to a farming accident. Several years later she moved to Gibbon, Nebraska and married Fred Wiseman. They were married for 11 years before his death, due to a lengthy illness.
In 1998, she moved to Flagler where she had a beautiful home built and lived in for several years, prior to developing her own lengthy illness.
Survivors include children: Jackie (Jack) Hasz of Flagler, CO, Carol (Gary) Hasz of Tulsa, OK, Stan (Mary Jo) Ravenkamp of Hugo, CO, Vivian (Larry) Bartels of Westminster, CO, Lyle (Richelle) Ravenkamp of Hugo, 17 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Charles F. Ravenkamp, 2nd husband Fred Wiseman, her parents, one son Dennis Duane Ravenkamp, one brother and one sister.
