Louise Eugenie Gerstenberger

Louise E. Gerstenberger passed away April 19, 2017 in Simla, Colorado. Louise was born in Deer Trail, Colorado, July 3, 1921 to Alta and Dell Dodge. She was the third born among siblings, George, Luella, Orvall and Bert. She attended Byers school and graduated in 1939. Louise married Keith Gerstenberger in Clovis, New Mexico, July 5, 1940. Together they raised 5 children, Kaye, Jim, Vicky, Don, and Kathy. They lived in numerous places including Pueblo, Matheson, and finally settling in Byers, Colorado. Louise was a faithful member of the Byers Community Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. Louise enjoyed cooking, music, crocheting, reading, writing poetry, and doing her puzzles. She enjoyed watching the Broncos and the Rockies and loved following the activities of her grandchildren whether it was sports or whatever they were doing. Her family was everything to her. She cherished her friends, and had her faith that was everlasting. She was preceded in death by her sister Luella Drake, her brothers, George Orvall, and Bert Dodge; her husband Keith and six grandchildren Lori Pelton, David Marshall, Jeff Hunt, Scott Palmer, Quinton and Kelly Gerstenberger and daughter in law Nancy Gerstenberger. Louise is survived by her five children, Kaye Mosbarger, Jim Gerstenberger, Vicky (Tim) Hunt, Don (Cara) Gerstenberger, and Kathy (Mick) Palmer, 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren,14 great great grandchildren, and one grandson-in-law Bruce Pelton, two sister in-laws, Harriet Gerstenberger and Edith Dodge along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
