Maggie Wilson

August 30, 1918 — September 11, 2008

Maggie Wilson was born to John Soloman Swaim and Lydia (Weatherman) Swaim on Aug 30, 1918. She was the youngest in a family of 7 boys and 7 girls. She married Quentin R. Wilson in February 1935 and they moved to New Mexico from their hometown of Jean Texas. After a few years, they were helping another couple move to Colorado and fell in love with the country. They decided to head north from New Mexico and moved to Colorado in 1938. This was home to them from the first day. Maggie and QR were very active in bowling and square dancing for many years. They moved from their country home and made Simla their city home. Many visits to Texas for the holidays was always a joyous occasion for Maggie and her many relatives. There are happy memories of everyone preparing food, playing card games (Maggie was the champion ‘Skipbo’ player) and making plans for fun times when Maggie and QR were expected to visit their Texas family. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters and 7 brothers and her life long love, QR. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and will be sorely missed by all. She is also survived by her caregivers, Pat and Karen Haley, as well as many friends. A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday September 17, 2008 at the Simla Cemetery in Simla, Colorado. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
